Ugh since Tuesday I got internet troubles, well I found out where they are. My ISP, very useful indeed! I hope they get it running soon because right now I have a meagre 50kbyte download connection to american websites. And that in a time of youtube and gametrailers is sad!
That and sometimes the connection even fails on that level. Well luckily I am not addicted to such level that I can't without internet. I mean Wednesday I was watching DVD's instead. And there are always some games that need completing. I did also work on changing my PC's to use wireless internet. Of course well protected but less wires cleans up!
So yeah I been doing positive things during the downtime and I fear it isn't over! With such a joke of a connection to the USA (I life in Europe) it probably means that it will be down more.
Oh well enough to do there is Final Fantasy XII after all. Well I am sure they will solve this issue and hopefully it won't mean I have to watch the worst of movies I got lying around. Maybe some Wii Bowling instead
Oh yeah the Wii, fun console but one big issue where are the fun games! Hell even the PS3 has more games nowadays that are at least enjoyable on some level. That and the best games are even "free" with the console. Well there is Zelda!

Well I guess I am back,
Where I been I guess busy with my life! I been without rats for a while sadly, they died of disease and age and I haven't yet felt for it to get some new ratty cuddles.
Also I been studying into otherking and therianthropy! And there has been allot that I been poking at, including dragons.
Nowadays I can be sure to call myself a dragonic instead of a wolfspirit. Well not that such changes much but atleast it is some clarity in this muddled issue.
That and so far I been drifting, waiting and seeing through the times. It is strange indeed! I am back for now, that is something right?
I guess I shall write stuff here again righty? Well I hope you all didn't float away yourself and you know.

The weather in holland has changed, storms friday and saterday! Rain and cold..and because of that it seems things changed of course getting the sweaters out was easy that already was done but it seems electronics are quite sensitive.
Sunday I wanted to be productive..make things..write things..yet the pc didn't want to start up. It took quite a while before it finally ran! Waiting time for me to really work on things :( sigh!
Atleast I found time to clear out some cabins...found 100 Euro that seemingly I stashed away quite a long while ago. Oh well 100 euro back in my pocket.
The rats seem less lucky, there are signs of diseases and things growing and that is never good. I can only hope they hold out long enough as at this age, they are over two after all and aging fast. Any operation just it a to big risk.
Lots of hugs and kisses though to them..so now back to work on a few things :)

Zapp, well back we are for now atleast, from my month long mental slumber walking through the caverns of my own mind. Isn't that something strange, how the mind works...
So an update ..for what there isn't that much to say, I mean it is winter it is finally colder here and..there isn't much news. I been enjoying everything there was to enjoy!
What to update on, the problems with the VC Zine, unless you are member of it it is hardly worth knowing. But sure why not, the VC Zine seems in quite some troubles as those writing for it ..well not many are writing for it. And simply not enough contributions are there to keep it afloat, we are working on a new format that might work..still!
I hardly am one to help much out there, reviews? I do them hardly..poetry..lets not go there.
So :) What is new for the rest... not that much. Back to cuddling up with the ladies ( rats that is! )

How to bleed your computer
Aug. 15th, 2006 | 11:19 pm
Computers are weird things and sometimes how they act seems to be much like normal mechanicals. So today I am going to show you how to bleed your computer. Don't take that to literal..
Today my computer acted weird and didn't want to start up well, but using the bit of knowledge I build up I know that computer components store energy and maybe..just maybe..somewhere an energy storage is keeping my computer locked. So I used this method to "bleed" it out.
Ensure that electricity goes to the PSU ( that is Power Supply, where electricity enters your system ) and maybe there is even a switch there, but ensure that the flow is on. Keep the power cable in one hand and use the other to push the powerbutton. If you got the situation I had you might have a "hang up" in what things don't seem to work but...now the secret tip. Once the fans go on that is about.1-2 seconds after you push the button. Pull the electric cable out...this "abrupt" loss of power forces the motherboard to flush all the parts that can contain and keep energy and voila. Blockage gone!
Then puts the cable in again and start it up and it should be running just fine again. Guess what it did for me...strange..I question what kind of part would store energy in such a way that it locks up the system. Oh well
For the rest I had a nice day been playing with the ratties and had to do some EXTRA groceries. Just fine..

And flupdates but that is later care. So this weekend I been checking on a few things.. Oh yes the linux computer just runs fine. Always nice to see something work, the internet now acts Irregular but..I will solve that to.
I want to share something with you all, comics yes I love good comics so I give here two links to a comic you have to read.
Station V3, about a space station ( tank station even ) somewhere in space. A bit like red dwarf things happen there you just don't expect
The alternate Reality station Z7 pretty much is a spin off, not that such changes to much..really..not at all!
For the rest, well been reading up on some internet gossip and stuff, it is fun! To see the flame wars between fanboys of either the Xbox 360 or the upcoming Playstation 3. The media definitly trained them well! Coming out the 17th of september seemingly it will cost quite freaking much. I just await the reviews to see if it is worth it..see..it is stupid to buy a product just on the hype.
For those liking to buy a console cheap, the second hand market is pretty much open right now, full consoles plus a load of games are being sold. Want to pick up Halo cheap or some other game now is the time. I guess that is the good thing about aging beyond 18 years (I am 26 now ) I don't need the latest of the latest or the best..atleast not as the Hype says I should.
I rather see if it is worth the money..and I love second hand market stuff..know the right sources and you can buy a great item against a nice price.

Linux

tired
My geek factor here is rising I guess noticing the name. Anyhow I finally have pushed myself so far to work on my little project to change my "server" pc to run linux instead of windows.
I downloaded the latest Ubuntu cd an linux based on the debian package with a few items and things added. This means that with a bit of luck you never have to deal with Text Based happenings ( unlike the official Suse 7.01 cd's I actually once bought..they never had the good videocard driver inbuild ). Lucky so far all is running well and I am now installing the extra needed software and updates to make it a nice media server.
See I am a techie, but ..a linux command line goes a bit to far for me, it would take me a few hours to find out how to deal with that. And if I want to install something I don't have that kind of time..
But, I don't have a good place for the pc to really stand and so..I have to look at a monitor standing on the ground..making it quite hard on my back.
I just hope that with the right configurations I can get everything installed right so that I can make it a small and enjoyable media center. Nothing to heavy, I mean it is old hardware and it is just a second life. But some external storage and maybe a bit of fun on it will just be fine.

The unheavingly hot summer period is over yes, the heatwave is gone. Now know it is still not very cold but atleast the mind bending, crash causing heat is definitly gone.
I am more then happy to be able to think again, though I need a few days to return to normal. Oh yes and I did ended up getting "another year older" though..really..it doesn't affects me that much.

Jul. 27th, 2006 | 01:24 pm
Well the first real long rains, enough to atleast for nor push down the temperatures. Of course the sun is shining again and all that humidity will end up in the air...
Last night I was awake till .. 7AM and woke up around 10AM so, yes I am a walking wreck right now. Yeah for summertime..
Though I fear it will be just the same tonight, hot humid and I can't sleep...grumble

Keeping a blog means having to put something in it at times, mostly that happens if I have actually something to say. I am not one to just blatter about things and my inner dwellings of the minds are even for me a mystery so, I hardly can write about them.
But now there is even a worse influence, the freaking hot weather. Unbelievable, the heat isn't killing but it is the humidity. Try to think or ..do anything in this mind blattering weather, it is almost impossible. I am lucky I had some old stuff for the Vampire Church to rehash because putting things in the Zine.
Well my mind simply is not producing anything worthy lately. Hot Hot Hot...I hope summer is over soon!

A vampire story
May. 3rd, 2006 | 07:07 pm
Because I am making my own "dream" for furcadia ( for me and my mate in the game ) I have written a story to support it's "existance"
Its a house, high up in the clouds, for vampires and demons and alike. Its sunny yet at the same time the sun doesn't stings ( due to magic ) and well if offers allot of fun!
So here the story as is!
Long has befallen the ages, many moons have come and left. Now I feel the cold death closing in, my body failing to keep up with my desires. I would be ageless I was promised, that special moon. The day before I enjoyed every moment of the shining sun as I knew it would be my last. How I yet long to see the sun again..
My story is long and like many, I became one of the blood many moons ago. I began as a farmer, a son of a farmer yet I desired so much more of life. When the stranger came to town unlike most others I saw in it a way to escape. To much dismay of my father I took my breaks in the local Inn, speaking with the figure. He was certainly strange but had knowledge only few would have in my hometown. The priest of the church warned me for the lure of this, knowledge but I kept coming. And one night as I was there on the land to get my coat that I left behind during the day. I saw the strange travel over the roads.
As fast as my legs did go I ran to it, begging him to stay to tell me more. The stranger hissed softly and looked down upon me saying that it could not be. I kept running with his horse and he looked back at me again, definitly not amused by my desire to learn more. A mysterious smile, as I can remember, mysterious it was. I can't even recall what was said, but once I woke up from the words he was gone and I knew I needed to go to the burned down chapel.
As I came back my father was still up, mad as he was he send me up to sleep as soon enough we had to work on the land again. Against my father I couldn't do much, not yet atleast. As I woke and got to work, I didn't know it would be my last day amongst the sun. In my mind still knowing to get to the burned down chapel. I left my jacket so I had to return, my father would not else allow me to go out past dawn.
It took a fight, many harsh words but I did moved out to come for my jacket and more then just the jacket. The lure of the stranger still called upon me, after picking up the jacket I walked down the path to the burned own chapel. It was dark but not could as it was a summers night, the birds sang and the chirping and creeking of other little animals filled the sky. The Chapel was not far away, it was as stories said burned down during the last great war. And that war was already very long ago, plants grew wildly in it and there was a bit gaping hole where the roof should be. As I stepped in a sudden cold, unnatural but my desire to learn was to strong. I walked closer and found steps leading down the loft. The door was open and there was a table with a candle burning on it. No one to seen around though. I stepped in and after a few steps the doors behind me closed. As I looked back I saw nobody, but a voice I remembered I heard “You have come that is good”
The dark shadows of the loft made it hard for me to find the source of the sound. I knew this should be the strangers voice but I couldn't make off where it came from. The voice again, now in it a slight smirk “Walk to the table and take a seat we have to talk”. Looking around still unable to pinpoint the sound I walked to the table as requested and set down, the light of the flame only making it harder to see in the darkness.
I questioned myself what I let myself into and if I had a chance to run away if I didn't like it. Probably the doors we're already locked and I was stuck and where was the stranger, I looked around hoping to make up anything from this area. Then as I looked back the stranger sat there in the other chair, I didn't even hear him sit down. With a smirk on his face he looks at me for a few minutes before speaking again in his dark voice “You have come to seek knowledge, haven't you Paladias Oskiry”.
I was shocked how did he know my name then if he knew all other things he told me. I stumbled in my words “I..I..” before I took a deep breath and just nodded. A smile appeared on the strangers face “Good, I could teach you allot if you had the time but...” then the voice changed slightly “You are a mortal, you would be dead before you could use the information..”
These words we're strange for me we're not all mortal? I did hear the folkstories about immortal creatures but those we're usually to scare you from going to places. And yes the stranger used these words to me, mortal as if there was something like immortal.
The stranger just looked as if he knew what I was thinking, but was he really capable of doing such. The voice again “I see doubt troubles your mind, I can offer you a clear sight..and more..its not as if you have a choice left”
I looked at the door then back, a choice that was over? What choices and how? Then it came to me, I did know to much already and if I didn't do as he said, I would be dead. I looked at the Stranger and with an unstable voice said “I want to see clear..I want knowledge”
The stranger laughed and nodded before he moved over to me, one of his hands came on my shoulder and unlike most times I met him this time I saw the black nails and felt the cold skin. I shook a little and looked up. The stranger smiles “Surprised? After all I have told and shown you did you really think we we're just myths?”. The stranger has to mean vampires, I did put myself in allot of trouble. Then I looked up again to get hit by a hand that hit as hard sword. I fell to the ground and everything went black.
As I woke up it was still dark, I noticed the stranger sitting now in a chair. I tried to move my body but it was like it was frozen I only could look around. Seemingly I layed on an alter, above me a broken statue. The stranger moved closer and I could see him now fully, not the most beautifull of creatures but there was something of beauty about him. A charm or beguillement the stranger might put on others, then the voice now colder and harsher “Its time to choose...I already took your blood so you'll die soon enough” then laughed, I could hate him for it if I wasn't already in this situation “Join me and serve me or provide the local wildlife with your flesh”. There wasn't much choice at it in this situation. The pastors voice came up in my head warning me against these unholy creatures and that if I would become one I would never go to heaven. The other voice was of the stranger though telling that there was knowledge to gain, a freedom of the life as a farmer.
And such was the choice made since that day for as long as he existed I was like a shadow to him. Following him to where he did go and doing all he requested, he wasn't a harsh master though teaching me many things. I became to love the life of a vampire, to charm others and take their blood. I never made another though, that was forbidden by my Sire. I met other vampires and I felt welcome in a big family. For then I didn't miss the warm rays of the sun!
My sire's tragic death lead me to think about things deeper. How it happened for as far as such matters, we moved through europe going for Paris as one of the vampires there had invited us to come. It would be a great party, underway we rested at Inns and secret safehouses. One day at a public Inn, as nothing else was around we found a place to sleep. It wasn't lang before we heard the sounds of horses stopping at the Inn and loud steps on the wood, they we're running upstairs. My Sire screamed to me “Hunters! We must fight ourway out”, I get out my sword just as the door was kicked open and five ironclad fighters came in. It was a heavy fight, we had to use all our vampiric powers kills them off then we moved to the outside door. I peaked through the window and saw three more awaiting us, their horses though closeby. If we could run for the horses we might safe ourself. They seemed foolish enough to attack us by night if lucky we found a burrow of ruin to hide in.
Both of us burst out and we got into a fight with the three, they surely we're stronger then the others and as I finally fought my way closer to the horses I looked at how my sire was beheaded by a strike of a huge silver sword. I just had time to jump on a horse and ride off as fast as possible. My sire death, it was a looming reality as I headed through the fields. I lost them easily enough as I stopped the horse into a thick forest. I walked further through the forest as I saw two hunters run far off. Moving deeper in the forest seeking something like shelter, having to leave the horse behind as I hit an ackward thick area. In luck I entered a small open area, the sun was soon to return and I felt a need to hide fast. The only thing I had to hide behind was a huge statue, as I hid there and the sun came out I felt its burning rays on me, the pain and the fire before I found myself up between the clouds. I couldn't see the sun but it was sunny in sight, light and the area felt magical.
Losing the Sire loomed on my hearth but finding my new home. No one would hunt me down here ever, with a smile on my face I entered what was now, my manor! And for those who come after me for once even I find an end to my eternal life. The manor is a safe place that only few can find!
Paladias Oskiry,
Its a house, high up in the clouds, for vampires and demons and alike. Its sunny yet at the same time the sun doesn't stings ( due to magic ) and well if offers allot of fun!

Smoothy Time

So long I posted here, well that is .. I am not the most public person. Some can write journals full about..well things that aren't the most interresting. And I, I am way more introvert, if something is not worth mentioning I don't mention it. But well I guess this time I write something so you all know, that I am still alive.
So I been making my own fruit smoothy's already for three days, bought a bunch of fruit, banana's strawberries ( those we're done in two days..) kiwi's and Granny Smith apples. Well I am through the strawberries..to sweet for me really! But I like this one, one banana, two kiwi's and one granny smith. And that blended, oh yes and a slight bit of grenadine to take care of the sour. Yum Yum!
Rats loved it to, they are "old" now in their ways... over 18 months ..so things go slower. But you have to love two ladies sleeping next to you...when they we're you that was impossible...

Two Long Weeks
Apr. 12th, 2006 | 05:53 pm
Some of you might ask "what happened" well I had a two weeks forced vacation of the internet. Short said I changed provider and I still don't have the modem that I need, but..happily after two weeks of work this modem works with the connection. Not perfect, but it works!
So happy to be back online, two weeks of forced vacation is so bad. Anyhow I am back and currently listening to my new Audio DVD, that is pure audio...not a concert with video. And enjoying Hotel California on 96khz 24bits 6 channel sound..now if I just had the boxes for it..it would be perfect. Gotta love high quality audio, its to much more clear so much more... well...deeper.
Well enough said, hopefully soon I get things done ...sigh

Feb. 13th, 2006 | 10:17 pm
Menri was friday more then better, busy again trying to get me to give rat candy and attention.
Indeed she is fully better, so happy owner... it probably was indeed a small infection.

update on menri
Feb. 9th, 2006 | 01:07 pm
It seems the biggest attack is over, her temps are back to normal, the sweat is gone, still has a problem eating but atleast drinks again. I stay home today to keep an eye on her progress and hope that friday I can flag it good.
The vet says it might just be the effect of an Infection, if so she simply requires a few "days" sick ( in rats that is much shorter though ) to sick it out. Atleast she drank again...so that is good!

rat sick?
Feb. 9th, 2006 | 03:59 am
Weird, today Men Ri hasn't come out of the cage and now I pick her up she is slow, not hungry at all, and sweating like hell. Just weird, I will have to look at it one day maybe she needs just some time to go better but if she is this way friday she goes to the vet!
To add to it, she even didn't wanted the salami I offered here. Any ratlover will know that meat is high on the wish list of any rat and they will react on it. She just woke up enough to sniff it and then go to sleep... I worry.. I better call off tommorow and keep an eye on her.

And another thing, so what I been up to lately, I been stuck in Furcadia
A world where you create a furr, a pixilated character that represents you or whatever you roleplay. Guess what I am a wolf, and currently planning the marriage with my fiancee in Furcadia. Outside of Furcadia no relation yet though...

Yahoo been acting very odd
First I got a message that I got a new password ..I never asked for one. My heart jumped over about the idea that somebody hacked my account, but after regaining my password I saw nothing was done. So its all a server problem.
And its done to many as other friends complained about it to!
